Role Overview

The Young Adult Recovery Support Specialist draws from their own lived experience of recovery and healing to inspire hope and help peers achieve their personal goals. They promote self-determination, personal responsibility, and young adult empowerment. The role involves working with a team of recovery specialists who support one another. The Specialist will use their recovery from substances to help other young people, provide education and support, and help them find their recovery pathway. They will also be part of a statewide group of young people that are proud to be in recovery.

What You Will Do

The Specialist will provide young people a voice in their communities, plan recovery activities, run Young People peer support groups, and organize and participate in community recovery events. They will also provide education and support to young people and help them find their recovery pathway.

Why It Might Be a Fit

This role requires lived experience with sustained recovery, experience working with the young adult population, and knowledge of available recovery resources in local Massachusetts communities. The Specialist must also have a valid MA driver's license and an acceptable driving record.

  • Acceptable CORI and SORI background record check
