Job Description
The Youth Care Worker provides supervision and assistance in maintaining a safe environment for youth in care at the Youth Services Center.

Requirements

  • High School or GED, Associates Degree or two years of college credits preferred
  • One-year experience working with youth or young adults
  • Valid Driver's License to operate County owned vehicle
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all Departmental records and information
  • Working knowledge of local, state and federal laws applicable to Youth Services Center operations with the ability to apply and enforce regulations
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Ability to enforce center rules and regulations, resolve conflicts, respond to emergencies and take authoritative actions as needed
  • Previous training as Youth/Child Care worker and crisis intervention
  • Ability to prepare accurate and detailed records of all resident's behavior
  • Ability to safely restrain residents
