Youth Care Worker

The Youth Care Worker is a non-exempt position responsible for the well-being and safety of children at the Unaccompanied Children Program. The role involves being a supportive and positive role model for the development of social and other skills for all children. The Youth Care Worker will assist children with daily living activities, doctor appointments, outings, and case management, and respond to emergencies and provide crisis intervention.

What You Will Do

The Youth Care Worker will be responsible for conducting routine checks at the following intervals: 30-minute, 15-minute, or 1:1 checks, and will also be responsible for recording behavior and interactions of the children with staff and peers; monitoring and supervising children 1:1 or conducting frequent checks.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Two (2) years of direct care experience working with children
• Experience in a residential or mental health treatment setting is preferred
• Bilingual skills required in clients' spoken languages, Haitian Creole, and or French
• Must provide proof of Immunization for Varicella (2 doses), MMR (2 doses), Influenza (1 dose yearly), and Tdap (1 dose)
• Must have a valid driver's license with current auto insurance coverage

• Pay: $19.00 per hour PLUS $.50 per hour for working during 2nd shift hours and $1.00 per hour for working overnight and weekend hours
