Role Overview

The Youth Intervention Specialist creates an environment that promotes student learning and development through programming and support for student behavior. They work in a school setting, helping students with behavior issues and working with teachers to find creative solutions to challenging problems.

What You Will Do

The main responsibilities of the Youth Intervention Specialist include implementing and monitoring the Positive Behavior Intervention Support Program, creating advisory curriculum, delivering staff development, and de-escalating student incidents. They also maintain communication with parents, teachers, and administration, and refer students to administration or student support as needed.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will have a college degree in Public Administration, Education, or Human Services, and experience working in a school setting or with adolescents. They should be able to work after school and weekend hours, and have experience with Guided Discipline and PBIS. Case management experience is a plus.

Requirements

  • College Degree in Public Administration, Education, or Human Services Field
  • Previous experience in a school setting/or working with adolescents
