Role OverviewThe Division of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention is committed to the reduction and prevention of juvenile delinquency by effectively intervening, educating and treating youth in order to strengthen families and increase public safety. The Youth Services Behavioral Specialist will work with court-involved youth, providing direct supervision and engagement at a Youth Development Center or a Juvenile Detention Center.
What You Will Do
The Youth Services Behavioral Specialist will provide direct care to youth, including supervision, engagement, and intervention. They will work with youth to develop life skills, provide guidance and support, and help them make positive changes in their lives.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution
- High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of related human services experience
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with people
- Physical ability to apply proper methods and procedures to physically restrain juveniles and defend self after being properly trained by the department
