A Fred Hutch ARNP/PA-C is a certified physician assistant or advanced registered nurse practitioner who performs cancerrelated procedures including bone marrow aspiration and biopsy, diagnostic lumbar puncture with or without intrathecal chemotherapy, and intraventricular catheter (Ommaya) access with or without intraventricular chemotherapy, as well as tunneled central line removals. The APP prescribes and supervises moderate sedation for these procedures. Procedural care is provided to patients receiving care through Fred Hutch. This job opening is specifically designed to recruit an ARNP/PA-C who will work at Fred Hutch Cancer Center in South Lake Union Campus, with potential expansion to additional Fred Hutch sites as needed. All clinical responsibilities are performed within the scope of practice, and institutional privileges of the assigned location, and under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer at Fred Hutch.   
Responsibilities

Evaluate patient eligibility for procedures, including assessment of:
Indications and clinical appropriateness
Contraindications and potential risks
Expected benefits and alternatives
Anticipated complications and mitigation strategies

Perform:

Diagnostic and therapeutic lumbar punctures with or without intrathecal anticancer agents
Diagnostic and therapeutic Ommaya reservoir access with or without intraventricular anticancer agents
Bone marrow aspiration and/or biopsy
Tunneled central venous catheter removals
Additional procedures as trained and credentialed
Conduct comprehensive preprocedure evaluations
Obtain informed procedural consent in accordance with regulatory and institutional standards
Provide patient and caregiver education regarding procedure expectations, risks, aftercare, and followup
Ensure highquality and adequate specimen collection for all assigned procedures
Prescribe and manage procedural moderate sedation
Maintain privileges for all assigned procedures and moderate sedation
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, timely, and effective patient care
Participate in rounds, conferences, and committee work
Engage in cancerrelated clinical research activities

Qualifications
Required:

Must be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner training program awarding a Master’s degree.
Certified as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
Licensed to practice in the state of Washington.
DEA license upon credentialing/start
Current ACLS certification on hire
Minimum 1 year of ARNP or PA C experience required; preferred oncology/hematology experience.

Preferred:

Experience or familiarity with cancer related procedures including bone marrow aspiration and biopsy, lumbar puncture, and intraventricular catheter (Ommaya) access with or without intrathecal chemotherapy, as well as tunneled central line removals
Willingness to triage and see patients in Fred Hutch Undiagnosed Mass Clinic (UDMC), providing diagnostic evaluation for patients with suspected malignancy.  Involvement to be determined with APP/MD leadership based on clinic demands.

The annual base salary range for this position is from $131,000.00 to $201,456.00, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
